Statue of Unity


The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue located in the state of Gujarat, India. It is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was a prominent leader during India's independence movement and the country's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. The statue stands at an impressive height of approximately 182 meters (597 feet), making it the world's tallest statue.

The construction of the Statue of Unity was completed in 2018 and it was inaugurated on October 31, 2018, to mark the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The statue is situated on a river island called Sadhu Bet near the Narmada Dam and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Apart from being a tribute to Sardar Patel's legacy, the Statue of Unity serves as a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over India and the world. It also includes a museum and exhibition hall that showcase the life and achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
